African History: Andre Action Jackson

World's First Black Diamond Manufacturer

Real name: André Action Diakité Jackson (aka M'Zée Fula-Ngenge)

Born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France

Not much is known about this private man, but what is known is that André Jackson, is a former rough diamond dealer who began his career mining and supplying diamonds. In 1987, this enigmatic, charming and driven advisor to the late Zaïrean President Mobutu Sese Seko, opened his first diamond-cutting factory in Mbuji-Mayi, Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire). Nine months later, he opened another factory and selling office in Kinshasa, which now operates as a full-service diamond company. His operations have expanded throughout every diamond producing country in Africa. Jackson has successfully set up selling offices, and cutting factories in Antwerp, Dubai, Tokyo, New York and Houston.
