My brothers and sisters, one hundred and seventy four years have passed since Africans were free from European slavery, but are we the decenants really free? We are still in bondage,we do not own our own home,we do not own the lands,we still work for massa,we are still enslaved to a job,to the bills,to the debt collector.
So as we celebrate Emancipation, let us do some slf reflection, let us,light a candle, say a prayer, beat a drum, let us look deep within and ask the question,i am truly emancipated,if the answer is no,then let us create a`solution to truly becoming emancipated, let us start the process, the journey may be long and hard, but let us as a people start, not tomorrow but today, let us start by saving, investing, buying and owning our homes and land, investing in our iterlectual abilities, let us enhance ourselves, and emacipate ourselves by continuosly educating ourselves both formally and informally, start reading and learning about our rich history.let us lead by example, let us show the younger people how to be truly liberated, how to be truly emancipated,in mind body and soul, let us stop amongst the madness and truly reflect on where we came from, where we are now,and where we are going.
