Hello,
I recently became interested in the situation in
Sudan when I recently met some students from southern
Sudan and I wanted to find out more about their
country. I also felt I was not informed enough about
the situation in the country even though the western
media has recently been focusing on the situation in
DarFur. However, as I began to learn a little about
sudan, I became more perplex about the problems
between what the west calls africans in the south and
west, and the "arabs" in the north. What puzzled me
more than anything was that the media and the Africans
of Northern Sudan, who look black or african to me,
were being called Arabs. Thus, my question is, can
anyone explain the history of these so called arabs or
what I like to call superarabs and how they came to
hate their brothers in the south so tremendously.
