Neanderthals

I find the lengths to which Europeans go to prove that they are somehow different, i.e. superior, to the rest of mankind quite humorous.

Take, for instance these two contrasting views of Neanderthals:

There is no evidence that the Neanderthal ever developed beyond a primitive being, but still they try to prove that modern europeans descended from these beings. They are so caught up in the psuedo science of racial superiority, that they still cling to it, no matter how much (or lack thereof) evidence, there is to the contrary. I can imagine how upsetting this must be to those scientists, some of whom I'm sure, are still psychologically attached to this theory and want so much to distance themselves from these creatures who are the antithesis of everything that this theory advocates.
