Why are Indians ( south asians) immediately recognizable? It is the good old tough survivors, the australoid genes, or could be even older Indian region H.erectus legacy. And mitochondrial evidence as of today seems to point to remote africa anyway, much before humans as we know them today were formed. In short all Indians have primitive 'african' genes like anyone else in the world and it is no big deal. A visit to Tamilnadu in south India is enough, never mind advanced research
