Re: First Chinese Were Black
In Response To: First Chinese Were Black ()

It is an ongoing and very grave popular misconception among American blacks (note I didn't say African blacks for there is no such misconception circulating among them) regarding the "black origins" of Asian people (including Persians, Indians etc..).

Often, black Americans make the mistake of confusing all people with black skin with the classical African/negro race. There are other people in this world who have black skin and yet are not directly related to Africans.

One such race and major subdivision of humanity includes the Australoid race. This race includes four or more subvarieties including the Veddoid type common in INdia and the subcontinent and sometimes further west in southeastern Iran as well as southern Afghanistan, and remote areas of teh Hadramauwt in Arabia. Another variety is the Australian Aborigine which is similar to the Veddoid. Then there are the Melanesians who have also colonized over the course of history Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu etc...; the Papuans and finally the Negritos who artificially ressemble Africans but are most closely related to Melanesians.

Up to about 6000 years ago, all of southeast Asia was inhabited by Australoid people, which is why the southeast Asians have different morphology than Koreans, northern Chinese or Mongols for instance. Their skin is also darker for this particular purpose. Australoid and Mongoloid mixed to create the Polynesian race which later colonized the Pacific islands.

In neitehr case are we talking about Africans in the classical Negroid case. It is true that Homo Sapiens Sapiens came out of Africa but the current races of mankind are the result of thousands of years of evolution and mutation, AFTER the migration out of the African continent.

It is wrong therefore to assume an African origin for the prehistoric people of southern China and southeast Asia but more correct however, to assign the racial heritage to teh Negritos and Melanesians whose genes are mixed with the Mongoloid populations of the area.
