It is interesting that the ones who most vehemently deny a black presence in early pre-european civilizations are hybrid Asians. I have two friends both hybrids. One is half white, half black/african, pale skin, with green eyes and red curly hair. He could pass for white anywhere, but he calls himself black.
My other friend is half-white, half-indian/dravidian, his father is so black he is almost blue, he has pale skin and brown eyes, he calls himself caucasian-indian. He is often mistaken for hispanic. Why do I draw this comparison?
Self loathing is a natural out-crop of the oppression and dehumanization that existed during colonial times. The only way to combat it is through education. People need to be informed of their true ancestors and their contributions to the civilizing of the world. We all came out of Africa, our ancestors are the same as those currently living in Africa. Whatever color they might be now, they were once all black. There is no Negroid, Caucasoid, or Mongoloid race, those are just adaptations to climatic conditions.
The same brain that invented fire is the one that invented rocket-fuel. Learn to appreciate the contributions of all your ancestors. I know it's hard to let go of that racial superiority rubbish that the Nazis fed you but give it a try. As an American of Afro-Caribbean ancestry I am saddened and sickened by what is currently going on in Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago. We lose our humanity when we choose to politicize our differences.
