I agree that there is a huge range of people working in the "Afrocentric" school,
but that's one of the sources of it's dynamism.
Also, a lot of the stuff was written upto half a century ago, when circumstances
were a lot worse for African American scholars. G.G.M. James I believe had to
write his book in the deep South.
However, the same can in no way be said of Molefe Asante, Maulani Karenga,
etc., the younger generation. And let's not forget, the theories that were so
maligned by Lefkowitz, etc., are now being taken up by mainstream Egyptologists.

However, he did a lot of things right too, which is why his work is still an inspiration.
As well regarding G.G.M. James claim of legacy stolen by Aristotle from the
Library of Alexandria - I wonder what works _were_ used to make up that library,
whether there were a lot of Egyptian texts in it and especially, why the Greeks
created it in Egypt in the first place?
That question is sort of in line with the question that, if Philosophy was a truly
Greek undertaking, the actual Greek government, rather than taking up these
brilliant minds and put them to work in government, the army and industry,
prosecuted, killed and exiled all of them? And why this movement was so
shortlived in it's native land?
