Here is some information on Africa for your edification.

It was the endeavors and achievement of an African, Bell Award winner, Nigerian born, Philip Emeagwali that produced the idea called the "internet" which in turn spawned the "World Wide Web" and is what now gives you and I access to this website. No less than former US President William Jefferson Clinton referred to Emeagwali as the "father of the internet" Yet, if a fellow Rhodes scholar such as yourself disagrees with him who am I to argue. Even if you're not a Rhodes scholar, you are no different than the thousands who voted for the moron "Dubya" Bush. Americans it would seem prefer the quality of ignorance in their leaders rather than enlightenment.

Maybe if you paid more attention to your history and culture you'd have a greater respect for the contributions of Africans to modern "civilization"
Certainly, the depictions of the owners of that great Angkor Wat civilization bare a closer resemblance to modern Africans than modern Chinese or Europeans. However, being a victim of colonization myself, I understand your self hatred. Is Tran even your ancestral name or one you were given? Isn't Tran much like Nguyen, one of the few Vietnamese names that colonials found acceptable. In which case you may find this article very helpful.
